INC-5.2 was held at the Palais des Nations where, after ten days of intensive negotiations, no consensus was reached on a global plastics treaty. However, Member States reaffirmed their commitment to continue discussions toward a legally binding international instrument to end plastic pollution. Trinidad and Tobago was represented by a MPEAD team: Mr. Sanjay Singh, Permanent Secretary; Ms. Tushara Maharaj, Environmental Engineering Specialist; and Ms. Keima Gardiner, Waste Management Specialist. Through Ms. Maharaj, the country co-coordinated the Group of Latin American and Caribbean Countries alongside Uruguay and the Dominican Republic.
